J6 Films is an award-winning production company and collective of critically acclaimed directors, renowned for creativity, innovation, and excellence in filmmaking. We produce music videos, television commercials, documentaries, and branded content for clients around the world.
Founded in 2008 by James Baxter, J6 Films was established with a vision to build a roster of exceptional directors and like-minded creative talent. Since then, the company has delivered acclaimed work for leading global brands and broadcasters including Universal Music, Paramount Pictures, Sony Vision, BBC, Channel 5, ITV, Sky, BMG, and EMI Records.Over the past 15 years, J6 has produced music videos for some of the world's most respected artists, including Robbie Williams, Robyn, Kygo, Röyksopp, Seinabo Sey, Kill J, and Of Mice & Men.
In 2018, James expanded the company by launching The Church Post House, a dedicated post-production facility. He subsequently edit produced a music documentary for Dolly Parton. In 2024, he produced the critically acclaimed feature documentary Harder Than the Rock, which premiered at Sheffield DocFest and was later longlisted for a Grierson Award .In 2025, James produced Dreaming of You: The Making of The Coral in partnership with Sony Vision. He also successfully self-distributed both feature documentaries to more than 80 cinemas across the UK and negotiated acquisition deals with Sky and Arte for Harder Than the Rock, securing a five-year broadcast and streaming term.
In 2018, Inuka Bacote-Capiga joined J6 Films as a strategic partner to lead the company's US operations. Inuka develops and produces original scripted and unscripted content for film, television, and digital platforms. Her producing credits include the Academy Award-winning documentary Summer of Soul and the acclaimed feature film The Forty-Year-Old Version, which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination. She is also a member of the Producers Guild of America.
